Danielle Duffy started as the part-time House Manager at the Appalachian Women’s Museum in the spring of 2025. She holds a Masters degree in American History and a Public History certificate. She was the guest curator of Shadows of Incarceration the Cowee 19 Story displayed at the Mountain Heritage Center in 2024 and part of MHC traveling exhibits. In 2023, Duffy was a summer Mellon Fellow at the Applied History Initiative at the University of Colorado Boulder. She continues to collaborate with the Applied History Initiative by performing workshops around the nation. She has worked as a contract curator and designer on several museum and local history projects and presented across the country on numerous topics including cross-project collaborations, incarcerated labor, and gender issues in the convict leasing system. She joined the Appalachian Women’s Museum Board in 2022.
The part-time House Manager position is responsible for communications, fostering partnerships, training and managing interns and volunteers, and general house maintenance. This position is crucial to usher in the next phase of the Appalachian Women’s Museum and is funded by donations.
