Music on the Porch -- Saturday, September 5, 2026
This year's event falls on Labor Day Saturday September 5, 2026. We are excited to announce the addition of the Dillsboro Smokeshow BBQ Competition to this years event. Fill out the BBQ Contestant form if you or someone you know is interested in being a contestant in the BBQ competition. There will also be a sides and dessert category for those who do not want to person a smoker all day. Email Ann at ann@innovationbrewingnc.com if you are interested in submitting a side or dessert.

We are still accepting vendors for this years event. Vendor Application, booths are $35 and on a first come first serve basis. The AWM prefers arts, crafts and goods made, grown or upcycled by participant. email Danielle at museum@appwomen.org if you have any questions.

Annual Airing of the Quilts -

Held annually the first Saturday in May, Airing of the Quilts celebrates a longstanding tradition of hanging quilts out to air out after the winter months. The Appalachian Women’s Museum invites you to display your quilt or to attend the festivities. The Airing of the Quilts event is not a competition, but an exhibition of quilts, old or new, and can be quilts made by you or someone else. Quilt submission forms will be available early in 2027.
