Annual Airing of the Quilts -

May 2, 2026
Airing of the Quilts celebrates a longstanding tradition of hanging quilts out to air out after the winter months. The Appalachian Women’s Museum invites you to the eighth annual Airing of the Quilts, whether you wish to display your quilt or to attend the festivities. The event will be on May 2nd, 2026 at the museum located at 100 W. Hometown Place, Dillsboro, NC from 11am - 3pm. The Airing of the Quilts event is not a competition, but an exhibition of quilts, old or new, and can be quilts made by you or someone else. Each exhibitor is limited to two quilts and there cannot be any repeats from last year. The registration deadline to register your quilt is April 18th.

We had a great 2025 Music on the Porch event and are looking forward to the first Saturday in September for this years celebration!
