Airing of the Quilts
On Saturday, April 21st, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., a mountain tradition of “Airing of the Quilts” will be held at the Appalachian Women’s Museum (AWM). We want to invite you to have a part in this special day where we will be exhibiting over 65 quilts, old and new!
Plan to enjoy live music at the pavilion on the property, a raffle of Linda Kotila’s quilt watercolor hand-made bowls, baskets and many other items. There will also be a quilt scavenger hunt for old and young!! We are especially excited about having a quilt square/fabric scraps exchange. Folks can bring squares or fabric they no longer want, measured and labeled with amount of yardage, and placed in plastic ziplock bags. It’s a great way to recycle fabric like our quilting ancestors used to do!
We hope you’ll help make this a great day by bringing your family by coming to see the colorful quilt display.
If you are a registered exhibitor, quilts should be brought to the AWM between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on April 21st and may be picked up after 4:00 p.m.
